April 2027: landlords over £30,000 go quarterly

Your landlords’ tax is going quarterly.
Be the agent who told them first.

Rent statements go out monthly. From 6 April 2027, HMRC wants an update every quarter from any landlord whose share of gross rent – plus any self-employed income – was over £30,000 in 2025/26. Most will find out in January, while filing their tax return. The first person they ask is usually you.

  • No cost to you or your landlords
  • You never give tax advice – we introduce qualified accountants
  • Landlords’ details are only ever shared with their consent

Why timing matters

Send it in November, not in April.

The £30,000 group realises it’s in scope while filing the 2025/26 tax return, due 31 January 2027. That makes November 2026 to March 2027 the moment your landlords are listening.

28 October 2026

Autumn Budget. Any change to thresholds or dates is announced – expect questions.

7 November 2026

Q2 update due for landlords already over £50,000. A timely reminder shows you’re on top of it.

Nov 2026 – Mar 2027

Peak season. Landlords file in January and find out they’re in. Send the guide before Christmas.

6 April 2027

MTD starts for £30,000+. Their first quarter runs to 5 July; the first update is due 7 August 2027.

How it works

Three steps, no paperwork for your team.

1

We set you up

You get your co-branded guide and a link ending in ?ref=YOURCODE, so you can see how many landlords used it.

2

You share it

In rent statements, newsletters, renewal emails or your landlord portal – wherever your landlords already hear from you.

3

Landlords choose

They check where they stand and, if they want, get quotes from up to 3 qualified accountants. You get a monthly statement.

Partner terms

The short version

Free for you and your landlords. No contract – stop whenever you like.

What you agree to

You don’t give tax advice or tell landlords which accountant to use – we introduce, they choose. You only share the link through channels your landlords already expect to hear from you on, in line with UK GDPR and PECR.

Do you share landlords’ details with us?

No. You see how many landlords used your link and how many asked for quotes – never names, emails or phone numbers.

What does it cost?

Nothing, for you or your landlords. Accountants pay us when a landlord chooses to be introduced to them – that’s how the service stays free.

Some of our landlords are companies. Does MTD apply?

No – MTD for Income Tax covers individuals, not limited companies. Our check tells them so straight away. Joint owners each count their own share of the rent.

Can we stop?

Yes, at any time, by email.

Your landlords will ask in January. Have the answer ready in November.
